Child Care Program

The Child Care Program exists to provide support to families dealing with the many issues that arise when leaving an unsettling situation. The Child Care Worker gives mothers the opportunity to talk about common behaviours in their children in the aftermath of leaving an abusive relationship. This is done through Parent Group which discusses the effects of domestic violence on children, suggests parenting strategies and explores healthy coping strategies for children.

The Child Care Worker is in the shelter 5 days a week and is available to the women and children for one-on-one support for any questions or concerns that may arise. Emergency child care is also available.
